"Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?" Elif Shafak, The Forty Rules Of Love.
This is 'Kathy Osborne Therapy', my professional website. I run a private practice offering Relational Psychotherapy, Clinical Supervision, EMDR, Yoga Therapy and Psychedelic Integration. I'm glad you found your way here. I work online, in London and from my home, 25 minutes outside Chelmsford in Essex.
With over 25 years of experience in Yoga and Mental Health, I bring a deeply relational and embodied approach to psychotherapy that honours the complexity of human experience. My work sits at the intersection of relational theory, depth psychology, somatic practices, and expanded states of consciousness, creating space for insight, acceptance, grief, joy and transformation.

Life brings profound challenges, some expected, others that shake us to our core. Perhaps you're integrating a psychedelic experience. Navigating reproductive trauma or childlessness. Healing from cancer. Exploring your sexuality. Working with Chemsex. Facing mortality. Seeking ritual for life's unmarked transitions. Whatever brings you here, I will do my best to understand you. And I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.
I specialise in working with complexity; psychedelic integration, sexual health, reproductive trauma, cancer survivorship, and the search for meaning and ritual in modern life.
I bring both professional expertise and lived experience. I've worked as a psychotherapist, lecturer, organisational trainer, yoga therapist and for a decade as a performer and director. I'm a mother through late adoption of older children. I'm a cancer survivor. I've navigated my own psychedelic journeys. This isn't just my work, it's my life's path, and it informs every aspect of how I show up for others.
I am fully accredited with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) and a member of The Relational School. I'm trained in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) and qualified in EMDR, Clinical Supervision and Yoga Therapy. I am trained integratively, meaning I draw on humanistic, psychodynamic, relational, transpersonal, and mythopoetic approaches although my passion is to work relationally. I'm committed to harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, and creating spaces where you can be wholly yourself.
I work with adolescents and adults, couples, families and organisations. I offer both short and long-term therapy and I provide clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists.
Relational psychotherapy recognises that healing happens through genuine connection. Rather than viewing therapy as something that's "done to" you, this approach understands that change emerges from the authentic relationship we build together. In our sessions, I bring my whole self to the work, not as a distant expert, but as a real person committed to understanding your experience. We pay attention not just to your story, but to what happens between us in the room, how we connect, where we might struggle, and how these patterns mirror your relationships outside therapy. This collaborative approach creates a safe space where you can explore difficult feelings, challenge old patterns, and experience new ways of being seen and heard. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a place to practice relating differently, building trust and self-understanding through our shared experience.
Are you a psychotherapist or counsellor in need of professional guidance and support in your practice? My supervision services are tailored to support your professional development and growth. i hold an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision accredited by the British Psychological Society and have many years of supervision experience, both with groups and individuals. My approach aims to encourage you to find your own unique way of working that is safe, authentic and sustainable.
I hope you'll find a safe and confidential space within our sessions, where you can delve into your emotions, think freely and begin to make links which enable a fresh perspective to blossom, supporting you to gain deeper self-awareness. I'm here to listen, to see your blind spots, gently challenge old unhelpful patterns of being in relationship, to co-create new ways of seeing you and your life, and to assist you in uncovering the answers you seek. Through our collaborative work, we can navigate the complexities of your thoughts and feelings, ultimately empowering you to make meaningful changes in your life.
